Playing at The Children's Hospital
These organizations raise money and provide help and support for sick children. I write songs for The Songs of Love organization, individualized songs for brave kids coping with and recovering from cancer. This is a photo of Esai Morales and me at an event for the kids at The Children's Hospital in L.A. where I play and sing for the children.
Songs of Love Foundation
Here is a letter I received today (4-23-2003) from a mom of a little boy who was diagnosed with cancer. I wrote a song for Justin who is almost two years old. her words warm my heart and it feels powerful for me to connect and help heal people in this way.
Dear Songs Of Love,
Thank you so much for the wonderful, sweet CD specially made for my son. he was diagnosed with cancer (Neuroblastoma, Stage IV) when he was just 14 months of age. Upon receiving the CD, we played it immediately. We all love it! The tune is so sweet, so catchy and Deborah included every hobby and the name of every friend and cousin given! Joseph claps everytime he hears his name, and dances tge entire time. What a joy to watch!
